Dr. Trent Peng was born in Taipei, Taiwan, and attended McMaster
University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, with major in Psychology. He was
taking pre-med courses and planned to apply for medical school. During
college, Dr. Peng was exposed to Chiropractic, and was immediately attracted by
its drug-free, conservative, but effective approach to musculoskeletal
complaints. He decided to apply to Chiropractic School, and attended the
prestigious National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, Illinois.
Before graduation, he met his wife Cindy, who later moved to Georgetown, Texas
due to a job. After graduation, Dr. Peng followed his wife and settled in
Round Rock, Texas.
Dr. Peng has been a Texas chiropractor since 2005, first as an
associate chiropractor in Waco and Belton. He later joined Pflugerville
Wellness Center (PWC) in 2008, and took over ownership in 2012. Dr. Peng is the
present owner and clinic director for PWC.
Dr. Peng believes in an integrative approach in healthcare.
Therefore, he has incorporated many services into PWC, such as massage therapy,
acupuncture, nutrition, and weight loss. The customized, patient-oriented
approach ensures better and faster outcomes from patients, and has been the
practice model for PWC to the present day.
In recent years, Dr. Peng has undergone extensive training in
occupational health, as he believes occupational risk factors play a major role
in one's musculoskeletal health. First, he enrolled in the Diplomate of
Occupational Health and Ergonomics program (a postgraduate diplomate program by
Northwestern Health and Science University) to be more knowledgeable in this
field. Secondly, he has been certified as a Medical Examiner for the
Department of Transportation (DOT) commercial driver physicals.
Afterwards, he became certified to perform workplace drug and alcohol
testing.
Currently, Dr. Peng is undergoing his PhD program in Public Health
(Please refer to Curriculum Vitae), with a minor in Occupational Health, with
the hopes of research occupational factors of disease and becoming an
information source for occupational health, ergonomics and corporate
wellness.
Dr. Peng has attended academic research conferences throughout the
USA, and has presented in these conference. He is awaiting the
publication of his first research paper on the association between obesity and
low back pain (in process).
Dr. Peng's vision for PWC is to not only become the go-to center
for musculoskeletal problems, but also an information center for the
maintenance of the patients' health post-treatment. He looks forward to
serving patients in Pflugerville and surrounding areas for the years to come.
